Jessica Diskin

Jessica Diskin, São Paulo, 1991, has a degree in architecture and urbanism from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado - FAAP, and in visual arts from Panamericana Escola de Arte e Design in São Paulo.

Passionate about the arts, she sees them as a way of telling stories. Jessica's work transcends the conventional boundaries of art through collage and mixed media. Her works are a sincere expression of her identity and peculiar vision of seeing the world.

Jessica, with her collages, creates a dialogue between the real world and the world of art, and incorporates everyday elements into her works, adding an element of social and cultural context, as well as a direct connection with the reality of the moment. There is intense research behind the creation of each narrative, and only then can the process of building each story begin. Through the deconstruction and reconstruction of carefully selected images, Jessica not only criticizes the vices and dysfunctionality present in our world but also seeks to establish a bridge between the past and the present.

With skill and creativity, Jessica combines different elements to create provocative and impactful images that invite the viewer to reflect on important issues that affect our daily lives, presenting a subtle or direct critique of a modern addiction, be it technological dependence, excessive consumption, entertainment culture or the search for perfection.

Jessica questions herself daily about what it takes to be happy in today's world. The works are provocative and thought-provoking, leading the viewer to reflect on their own choices and behaviors. Each image created is unique and conveys a powerful and profound message about modern society.

One of the most interesting elements in the construction of these plots is the insertion of historical photographs, by great artists, or authorial photographs as a basis and support for the insertion of other techniques, often leading us to remember our own origins and stories. This is where the viewer becomes part of the artist's narrative.
