Laura Morsman's Evangeline was a deeply personal work created in the wake of the sudden loss of a close friend during her college years. In the aftermath, she had distanced herself from painting, fearing that the process would reveal the profound depth of her grief. However, the name "Evangeline," which means "good news," inspired her to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, allowing the piece to reflect her raw emotional state.

About the Artist: 

Laura has been painting since childhood and began showing and selling her work in middle school. Now as a full-time editorial photographer and painter, her 15-year career spans nationwide as she connects with her clients through her vulnerable and empowering work. Painting has always been a form of therapy and liberation for Laura.
