Behind The Matches & Wexel Art Shadowbox Workshop

Wexel Art and influencer Behind The Matches hosted their first Shadowbox Workshop in Austin, TX. Erica Figliolia, owner of Behind The Matches, hosted the event at Wexel Art’s headquarters office, sharing her expertise on how to frame match books in their 10x10x2" acrylic shadowboxes with canvas. Erica guided attendees through the workshop, showing tips and tricks on how to use Gorilla glue, different ways to place matchbooks on canvas, and framing.

Charlotte Schembri, Wexel Art’s Marketing and Social Media Coordinator captured the excitement of the evening with photos and videos and informed attendees of the benefits of Wexel Art’s acrylic shadowboxes.

Attendees brought their own matchbooks and unique items or could choose from Behind The Matches’ large collection of matchbooks from New York City. Erica, who is from New York City, has collected matchbooks from her favorite restaurants and bars. Matchbooks from local Austin restaurants and bars were provided as well!

Since sharing her artist skills, Erica has amassed 148.8K likes on TikTok, making her the go-to influencer for all things arts and crafts. Wexel Art has been there for her throughout her artist journey, working together on creating promotional content and being a part of Upfluence’s Ready, Set, Click podcast, discussing brand collaborations.
